    Bactroban now comes as a CREAM...as well as an ointment.

    Both provide 2% mupirocin...for treating Staph or Strep skin infections. But the OINTMENT is approved for impetigo...the CREAM is for infected cuts, abrasions, or sutured wounds.

    Bactroban works about as well as oral cephalexin (Keflex).
