using cimetidine (Tagamet, etc) for warts

There's been lots of talk over the last several years about using cimetidine (Tagamet, etc) for warts.

It seems to help get rid of chronic warts in SOME children and adults...but not all studies show a benefit.

Cimetidine is thought to stimulate the immune system. It binds to H2-receptors on suppressor T-cells...possibly allowing a stronger immune response.
