NSAIDS should not be used after a fracture because they can delay bone healing.
NSAIDs inhibit the production of prostaglandins which help with bone repair.
Several animal studies suggest continuous use of NSAIDs, including COX-2 inhibitors, interfere with fracture healing.
This hasn't been proven in humans. But some small observational studies and case reports also suggest a link.
