Some prescribers are writing for phentermine plus topiramate (Topamax) for weight loss.
There’s even a phentermine and extended-release topiramate combo in the pipeline called Qnexa.
Prescribers are using phentermine 15 to 37.5 mg in the morning plus Topamax 50 to 100 mg at bedtime. Qnexa will contain smaller doses...as low as phentermine 3.75 mg plus topiramate 23 mg.
