dispensing meds in original containers
Pradaxa's (dabigatran) short shelf-life after opening a bottle is raising questions about dispensing meds in original containers.
Many meds are sensitive to moisture or light...and can lose potency after exposure. To avoid problems, these drugs come to the pharmacy in tightly-sealed, thick white bottles...or in blister packs.
For example, Pradaxa caps lose potency when exposed to moisture...they're only good for 30 days after the bottle is opened.
