Nicotine replacement (NicoDerm CQ, etc) is sometimes used to help pregnant women stop smoking...even though there’s not much evidence to support its efficacy or safety.
Data supporting the efficacy of nicotine replacement in pregnant smokers are conflicting. The most recent study suggests nicotine patches plus low-intensity behavioral support doesn’t help improve quit rates in pregnant women.
