Listen for Immunocompromised Patients Asking About Vaccines

Questions are coming up about vaccinating adults who are using immunosuppressive meds after discharge.

Stay alert for patients newly diagnosed with autoimmune diseases (multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, etc), cancer, etc. Encourage vaccination BEFORE they start immunosuppressants if possible.

Vaccines are especially important for patients taking immunosuppressants...since these meds can weaken the immune system and make patients more vulnerable to infection.
