Vitamin E interacts with statins

Lots of patients take vitamin E and other antioxidants with the hope of preventing heart disease.

There is some evidence that a high DIETARY intake of vitamin E might reduce the risk of heart disease. But the most recent evidence shows that vitamin E SUPPLEMENTS do not help prevent primary or secondary heart disease or cardiovascular events such as heart attack or stroke.

Recent evidence suggests that taking a combination of antioxidants including vitamin E might actually be harmful.
