    Glaxo is now promoting Ceftin (cefuroxime) for early Lyme disease. It's the first antibiotic to be approved for this use.

    But don't get too excited.

    Ceftin isn't any more effective than doxycycline...and it costs 10 times more. Three weeks of Ceftin costs over $200.
