Prometrium (micronized progesterone) is now APPROVED for hormone replacement therapy (HRT)...for women taking estrogen.

Until now, Prometrium was approved for secondary amenorrhea. But many women want to use it for HRT...as an alternative to synthetic progestins such as Provera (medroxyprogesterone).

Prometrium is structurally the same as endogenous progesterone. The particles are micronized to improve absorption.
