The FDA will no longer allow sunscreens to claim specific SPFs over 30...sunscreens that actually provide higher protection will be labeled "30+."
The Sun Protection Factor measures UVB protection. It indicates how long people can stay in the sun without burning.
There's no official rating system yet for UVA protection. UVA rays are less likely to burn...but they contribute to skin damage and can trigger photosensitivity reactions.
