The American Heart Assoc just released new guidelines on using low-molecular-weight heparins (Lovenox, Fragmin, Innohep).

The bottom line...LMW heparins are now considered FIRST-LINE for prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolism (VTE).

Lovenox (enoxaparin) and Fragmin (dalteparin) can also be used as an alternative to heparin for unstable angina.
