Exubera (inhaled insulin) will be discontinued...due to poor acceptance by patients and prescribers.

You may not have seen this dispensed much in your pharmacy, but this "insulin inhaler" generated a big buzz when it was launched. It was drop-shipped to almost every pharmacy, so you probably have a box on your shelves.

Exubera patients will have three months to switch to injectable insulin instead.
