FDA will finally overhaul the pregnancy rating system for meds.
They will do away with the current categories (A,B,C,D,X) that classify safety data for drugs in pregnancy. A new system will provide more comprehensive safety information in the drug labeling instead.
The new pregnancy info will describe fetal risk in humans and animals...and compare the risk of the drug to not treating the disease.
