There's controversy over whether dementia drugs are worth using.

Lots of dementia patients are put on Aricept (donepezil), Exelon (rivastigmine), or other cholinesterase inhibitors, or Namenda (memantine) in the hope of improving memory and functioning.

But these drugs are only modestly effective...at best.
