You'll soon see a new glaucoma eye drop, Zioptan (zye-OP-tan).

Zioptan (tafluprost) is similar to Xalatan (latanoprost)...but it's preservative free. It works just about as well to lower eye pressure in glaucoma patients...and can cause the same side effects.

Expect Zioptan to be saved for patients who can't tolerate preservatives...or those who prefer single-use vials over bottles.
