You'll see two new antidepressants, Brintellix (brin-TEL-ix, vortioxetine) and Fetzima (fet-ZEE-muh, levomilnacipran).
Brintellix will be promoted as having a new mechanism. But it works similarly to the "SSRIs" (paroxetine, fluoxetine, etc).
Expect to enter more than one Rx in the computer for patients starting on Brintellix. Most will start on 10 mg/day for one week...then increase to 20 mg/day as tolerated.
