You'll soon see another new "anticoagulant" blood thinner, Eliquis (ELL-eh-kwiss, apixaban).
Think of Eliquis as similar to Pradaxa (dabigatran) and Xarelto (rivaroxaban). They're alternatives to warfarin for preventing strokes in patients with rapid heartbeats, or "atrial fibrillation."
Eliquis will cost about $250...similar to Pradaxa and Xarelto.
