whether it's okay to combine certain blood pressure meds...Diovan with Altace, Avapro with Tekturna, etc

We're getting questions about whether it's okay to combine certain blood pressure meds...Diovan with Altace, Avapro with Tekturna, etc.

Some prescribers are using an "ACE inhibitor" (lisinopril, etc) with an "ARB" (losartan, irbesartan, etc)...an ACE inhibitor with Tekturna (aliskiren)...or an ARB with Tekturna for high blood pressure.

All of these meds work through the "renin system" in the kidneys to lower blood pressure.
