Nebulizer solutions (albuterol, ipratropium, etc) are still causing confusion...due to multiple strengths, days' supply, etc.

Product selection. Watch strengths and volumes closely. For example, albuterol nebulizer solutions come in 0.63, 1.25, and 2.5 mg per 3 mL vial... 2.5 mg per 0.5 mL vial...and 5 mg per 20 mL vial.

Expect to dispense sterile 0.9% saline with CONCENTRATED solutions (albuterol 0.5%, etc). These must be diluted by the patient before use.
