Nayzilam (NAY-zil-am) will be a new, ready-to-use midazolam nasal spray to quickly control bouts of seizures.

Think of Nayzilam as an alternative to diazepam rectal gel (Diastat AcuDial). Either can be given to quickly control acute, repetitive seizure episodes...and both are C-IV meds.

But midazolam is already being used intranasally...by drawing up injectable solution from a vial and attaching the syringe to a mucosal atomizer device.
