Expect Some Patients to Get One Inhaler to Prevent AND Relieve Asthma Attacks
Some asthma patients using Symbicort or Dulera controller inhalers won't get a separate rescue inhaler (albuterol, etc) anymore.
Patients who take Symbicort (budesonide/formoterol) or Dulera (mometasone/formoterol) twice daily to prevent asthma symptoms usually also get albuterol PRN to relieve symptoms.
Now some patients will use Symbicort or Dulera for prevention AND as needed to quickly treat asthma attacks.
