Watch for Ibsrela, a New Rx for Irritable Bowel Syndrome
New Rx Ibsrela (tenapanor) will soon hit shelves for irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) in adults.
It's touted to work differently than other meds for IBS-C...such as Amitiza (lubiprostone), Linzess (linaclotide), or Trulance (plecanatide).
But ultimately, they all increase fluid in the gut to relieve constipation...and there's no proof Ibsrela is more effective.
