Tavist Sinus that DOESN'T contain the antihistamine clemastine
Novartis is introducing a new OTC called Tavist Sinus that DOESN'T contain the antihistamine clemastine...just acetaminophen and pseudoephedrine.
Many companies extend their product line this way...using their brand name for products that DON'T contain the expected ingredient. For example, Bayer without aspirin...Mylanta without antacid...Kaopectate without attapulgite, etc.
This can lead to errors when patients are advised to get a certain product...and end up taking the wrong drug.
