New strength of Prempro

Wyeth-Ayerst is introducing a new strength of Prempro.

It contains 5 mg of medroxyprogesterone...instead of 2.5 mg like the original. Both contain 0.625 mg of Premarin.

The higher progesterone dose is for women who continue to have bleeding with the original Prempro. This is important because most postmenopausal women don't want to have periods anymore.
