Topamax (topiramate) is now approved for children as young as age 2...it used to be approved only for adults.

It comes in two new strengths for pedi dosing...15 and 25 mg sprinkle caps. Most kids take 5 to 9 mg/kg/day divided BID.

Tell parents the capsules can either be swallowed whole...or opened and sprinkled onto a spoonful of soft food.
