debate about importing Rx drugs

There's a lot of debate about importing Rx drugs...to get around the high prices that drug manufacturers charge in the U.S.

For example, Zocor costs $2 more per tablet in the U.S. than in Canada. Prilosec is $4/cap in New York...$1 in Mexico.

Drug companies argue that higher prices are needed to fund research...and that the U.S. benefits by getting new drugs much sooner.
