  Baxter will stop making multiple-dose heparin vials until they can figure out the reason for the sudden increase in adverse events.

  Heparin is a blood thinner used in hospitals to prevent clots.

  There are about 350 reports of adverse events to heparin in the last two months...compared to less than 100 in all of 2007.
