You'll hear buzz that "H2-blocker" stomach acid reducers (Zantac, Pepcid, etc) might be inappropriate for elderly patients.
This is because the "Beers" criteria have identified these as meds which could cause problems in some patients 65 and older.
It's true that any H2-blocker can increase the risk of mental impairment. But it's usually only a problem for patients who already have dementia or delirium.
