Watch for Heart Failure Patients Taking Supplements
Many meds can "tip the balance" and WORSEN heart failure.
NSAID pain relievers (etodolac, etc) and effervescent meds (Binosto, etc) can cause sodium and water to build up in the body, worsen swelling, and increase blood pressure.
Pioglitazone (Actos, etc) and rosiglitazone (Avandia, etc) can cause swelling too...and have a boxed warning in the labeling about possible adverse heart effects.
