Rx Winlevi Will Be the Latest Topical Med for Acne

Winlevi (clascoterone) 1% cream will be a new Rx med for acne.

It's the first topical to treat acne by blocking androgen receptors on the skin. Blocking androgen hormones may help reduce oil production and inflammation that cause acne or make it worse.

But there's no good evidence that Winlevi is more effective than other topical or oral acne meds. And it costs about $550/60 grams.
