Arimidex is now approved to treat EARLY breast cancer.

Tamoxifen is currently the standard for women with estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer.

Both tamoxifen and Arimidex reduce the effect of estrogen on tumor cells...but they work in different ways. Tamoxifen blocks estrogen receptors...Arimidex suppresses estrogen synthesis.
