two new opioid formulations, Oxecta and Lazanda
You'll hear about two new opioid formulations, Oxecta and Lazanda.
Oxecta (OX-ec-tah, oxycodone immediate-release) is the latest tamper-resistant opioid pain med. It's formulated to discourage potential abusers from crushing, chewing, snorting, or injecting the med.
The tab breaks into chunks instead of a powder if crushed...turns into a gel if mixed with liquid...and causes nasal irritation if snorted. But this won't stop people from taking large doses orally.
