Don't Automatically Substitute Acticlate With Other Doxycycline Meds
You'll see a new doxycycline product, Acticlate (ACT-ih-clate).
Think of it as similar to Vibramycin. Both contain doxycycline hyclate...can be taken once or twice daily...and are used to treat acne, STDs, respiratory infections, and more.
The big difference is that Acticlate comes in 75 or 150 mg TABLETS...and the 150 mg tabs are oblong-shaped and scored TWICE, so it can be cut into thirds instead of halves. This allows for more dosing flexibility in patients who need smaller doses.
