Calculating days' supply for these orders can seem complicated...since doses may change from day to day or from one meal to the next.

For example, patients may be instructed to administer 2 units of regular insulin if their blood sugar is between 151-200 mg/dL... 4 units if between 201-250 mg/dL...or 6 units if between 251-300 mg/dL.
