You'll see a new combo med for hepatitis C called Viekira Pak (vee-KEE-rah, ombitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir and dasabuvir).Think of Viekira as an alternative to Harvoni (ledipasvir/sofosbuvir). Both are oral tabs and can be used withOUT interferon.
But Viekira has its downsides. It has a higher pill burden...comes with significantly more drug interactions...has more side effects...and will usually need to be used with ribavirin.
