Bristol-Myers Squibb is marketing Fungizone (amphotericin B) ORAL Suspension...before it was only available for IV use.
The suspension is approved for treating oral candidiasis (thrush)...frequently seen in patients with HIV or cancer.
It was approved by the FDA over 25 years ago, but never marketed. Now there are more cases of oral candidiasis...including infections resistant to the usual antifungals.
