Zyflo (zileuton) for asthma

This month, Abbott will introduce Zyflo (zileuton) for asthma. It's an anti-leukotriene drug...similar to Accolate (zafirlukast).

Leukotrienes are pro-inflammatory substances. In the lung, they can cause bronchoconstriction...inflammation...and edema.

Accolate and Zyflo belong to different classes.
