There are new warnings that bisphosphonates may cause death of bone tissue in the jaw.

This jaw osteonecrosis is almost always related to the IV bisphosphonates...Zometa (zoledronic acid) and Aredia (pamidronate).

It's very rare but possible with the oral ones (Fosamax, etc).
