The new strengths of AndroGel and Androderm will increase the risk for mix-ups among testosterone products.
AndroGel now comes in a higher concentration so patients can use less gel. Using two pumps of the new AndroGel 1.62% is similar to using 4 pumps of AndroGel 1%.
AndroGel 1.62% will be priced a little lower to entice patients to switch. But they both still cost over $300 a month...and a generic is 2 years or more away.
