The next Mylanta to hit the shelves WON'T contain an antacid

The next Mylanta to hit the shelves WON'T contain an antacid...it'll contain the H2-blocker famotidine instead.

This new product is called Mylanta AR...for "acid relief." It's equivalent to Pepcid AC.

The manufacturers are trying to expand the acid-blocker market...using the powerful "Mylanta" name and customer recognition. About half of the people who use antacids for heartburn haven't tried an H2-antagonist.
