There's now increasing evidence that NSAIDs contribute to congestive heart failure (CHF) in elderly patients.

Elderly patients on NSAIDs are more likely to be hospitalized for CHF...especially if they have pre-existing heart disease.

The risk of CHF increases with higher NSAID doses. The risk also seems to be higher with NSAIDs that have a longer half-life such as naproxen or piroxicam.
