Now that Propulsid (cisapride) is going off the market, many patients are looking for an alternative to Propulsid for heartburn and other GI disorders.
Janssen will stop selling Propulsid on July 14th...due to the risk of arrhythmias when Propulsid is given to susceptible patients or combined with certain drugs.
Recommend switching to a proton pump inhibitor or H2-blocker for patients on Propulsid for heartburn or GERD.
