West Nile virus has sparked some new thinking about the safe amount of DEET (Cutter, OFF!, etc) to use on kids.
The American Academy of Pediatrics used to caution against using more than 10% DEET once daily on kids 2 months and older.
This was due to concerns about potential neurotoxicity. But cases were few...and never solidly linked to DEET exposure.
