Can you believe the advertising wars between Advil and Tylenol?
The Advil people are saying that acetaminophen is unsafe in people who consume alcohol. They paid newspapers to print a real letter from an angry Tylenol user (who regularly drank wine in the evening) and ended up with an emergency liver transplant. They also had a TV ad emphasizing the alcohol warning on the Tylenol package.
Before this, the Tylenol folks ran ads warning that ibuprofen can aggravate ulcers...and ads about it interfering with blood pressure meds.
